Many people believe betting is a risky business. But it needn't be that risky if you have the correct tools and information.

We make a healthy profit from Matched Betting. This type of betting has zero risks if you read all betting companies bonus/free bet terms and conditions carefully before joining, and carefully and thoroughly read up on how to match bet (on the above link or better google search sites on the subject).

If you follow that advice then it's really easy to make a profit. Many betting companies also offer you regular free bet offers which can be taken advantage of. Download the Matcher and Offer Calculator applications in the 'Tools' section, which we feel are essential for matched betting and taking advantage of free bet/bonus offers!

We easily make on average over £10,000 per year across 85 betting companies by match betting. I will not list all companies, but below are those that I've found most the profitable.

If you would like further help and/or advice on matched betting then contact us and we will help as much as we can.

1. Betfair is not only the best betting exchange service on the web, but is essential if you are going to match bet. In addition to matched betting, Betfair's in-play markets allow for easy profits if you know which markets to plough money into. Without giving too much away, we are making a very good profit (roughly £22,000 per year) laying certain 3rd favourites in horse racing, trading the half time score in football matches and placing strategic bets on football correct score markets at certain stages of the game.

2. Stan James is an excellent site for trying out betting theories if you wish to do so. Many markets require a minimum stake of just 5p and their odds are very reasonable. We have made on average £2000 per year from some of the big annual horse races here (odds are occasionally better than on Betfair, but you have to be quick to trade them!).

3. Skybet is a fairly good betting site which usually sends good free bet/ deposit bonus offers now and again. However, we believe there are many other user friendly sites than Skybet. We had made over £1500 in 2008 from free bets, matched betting and betting on safer football markets but no syndicate members use the Skybet site anymore.

4. Tradefair. If you are interested in spread betting then you'll love the ease of use of this popular spread betting site. A branch off from Betfair, and just as easy to navigate like Betfair too! We have made nearly £5000 profit trading the gold rolling daily market alone in October and November 2009 alone!! Tradefair also starts you off with a good bonus of £75 and all you need to do is deposit £75 (this gives you a £150 margin to trade on many of the markets immediately if you wish).

5. William Hill is a long established bookie that gives reasonably good odds and there are plenty of markets available too. Their web radio is good for listening to horse racing (via live streaming). We don't use this site as often as we used to but we collectively made over £4000 profit from free bets/bonuses in 2008.

6. Betdaq is a good betting exchange but does not better Betfair. Hence none of the syndicate members use it that often. Some of us use it for Match betting from time to time as odds on most markets are identical to Betfair yet Betdaq tends to offer more obscure markets (e.g. Egyptian or Finish football) which match up with other bookies well when Betfair can't. Hence we have only collectively make about £300 a year from this site.

7. If you like betting on the financial markets then this is a site that's fun and can be profitable! On BetOnMarkets we have been making a killing on betting on the Gold/USD market in October and November 2009 (made over £3000 in three weeks between three of us!). I think Tradefair has more scope for profits though with its better markets.

Sites that have not been profitable in our experience and not likely to ever be:

  • Bet365 - A very user friendly site with good odds and many markets. However, accounts will be closed quickly and permanently if users are found to be making a profit from their offers alone. Two of us have had our accounts restricted.
  • PartyGaming - Not many free bet offers received. Limited size of markets. Customer services and odds could both be better.
  • Bet Chronicle - No free bet offers will be received. after initial bet! Limited Customer services and odds could both be slightly better.
  • Bwin UK - No free bet offers have been received. since initial deposit! Lower odds do not lend it self to profit making.
  • Sporting Index - A spread betting web site. Too difficult in our opinion (impossible on most markets) to match bet with either Betfair or Betdaq. Not as user friendly as Tradefair.

This list should be updated soon with a few other profitable betting sites soon. Once one of we get time to check our online betting accounts carefully and unanimously agree which companies have been the most profitable, they will be listed here. Thanks for waiting. Watch this space!
